In photos: Snowboarding in Hafjell, Norway
Just over a year ago we spent a week in Hafjell, Norway. Snowboarding by day, hanging out with a few local friends on and off the snow and keeping cosy and warm by night. I'd forgotten how beautiful that blue sky was (it didn't come out every day), how exhausted I was when our off-piste mission didn't work out (the Norwegian fells don't quite have the steepness of the Alps!) and how delicious the cinammon buns at the top of the mountain were. It was fun to remind myself with these photos.
Here's the guide to snowboarding in Hafjell I wrote for Travelettes. If you do fancy snowboarding/skiing in Hafjell, I recommend staying at the Quality Hotel. While not a design hotel by any stretch of the imagination, it's very affordable (for Norway!) and has a great swimming pool, gym and lovely open fires in the lobby. There's also a ski bus stop right outside the doors.
