MusicMonday: More Than This by Roxy Music

Schoenen Gutentag from Berlin! More on that tomorrow... for now it's #MusicMonday time.

As NewMan and I drove through France and Switzerland last week we listened to more 1980s pop music than I care to admit. This song was one of the more respectable and it's one of those songs that you hear again and again over the years, yet you don't actually listen to the lyrics. On this occasion as I watched France pass me by I did listen and was surprised to find great chunks of romance and wistful whirls of an all consuming love.

In this world we live where there always seems to be more - more to do, more to see, more to achieve, more to worry about - I was strangely comforted by the idea that in those sweetest moments of love you can think to yourself, nope, there's nothing more than this.

So that's an unexpectedly profound reason for why I chose today's #MusicMonday by Roxy Music. Do you think Bryan Ferry is a bit embarrassed by this video too or is it just me? This weeks Instagrams range from the blisteringly hot sun which lasered down on us in the south of France to the clouds which sadly never let us see the full view of the Alps we craved in Switzerland. No complaints here though, it was so good to cool down a bit, chill out a lot and catch up on some work. Now I want to know what you like listening to? What would be your choice for a #MusicMonday? September is going to be a busy month for me so I'd love for a few of my cool readers to pick a song and explain why and I'll share the music and of course your magic links... If you'd like to get involved email me.
