in photos: Road Tripping in Europe
Over the last four weeks we have driven through Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Spain and our current (very) temporary resting place Switzerland.
Over the last few weeks I've learnt that road trips have for discussing, arguing, thinking, singing, wondering, daydreaming and more arguing.
As an Australian NewMan is blown away by the fact that we can cross borders without confrontation and I was even surprised when this happened at the Swiss border seeing as the last time I was in the country I entered by train (some ten years ago) and remember a trying moment when I was escorted to my suitcase by border control policemen when I didn't have my passport on my person. Never try to extract your passport from deep within a suitcase of too many clothes and shoes on a speeding train with two lean and mean Swiss policemen looking over your shoulder - talk about pressure...
But back to the matter in hand... As a passenger and as a driver, on the road and at service stations, I've been impressed by each country's uniqueness and personality. I wanted to do my best to capture this with my camera...
Tomorrow we hit the road again. I can't wait. Bring on the open road and yet another country...
