Moments of Happiness in Rotterdam
Enjoying the quirky and cool of a new city, despite a determined rain...
Finding a restaurant that exceeds your expectations... ( Bagel Bakery by the way)
...and staying in a brand new hotel. So new, that I was able to make sure I was the first person who slept in and bounced on this bed.
Waking up surprisingly early on a sunny Sunday morning and deciding to go on a run that allowed me to see the city empty of people.
Following running markers for a short or long route... (I took the short)
Stopping to take a few photos of the rising sun and more...
Deciding to go off track and get lost, for no good or bad reason...
Finding, by sheer accident, the cubic houses I've longed to see for many years...
And looking up to see a star in the blue sky.
Jogging down the sides of canals, like I used to in Amsterdam.
Still no one else around apart from a duck and old abandoned bikes.
Ending up where I started, in front of the Erasmus Bridge, a huge and uncompromising sight - one of many that make Rotterdam the city it is.
Later, after a day of work and conversations with new and old friends, I allowed myself a dinner of bitterballen.
These were my moments of happiness in Rotterdam.
