In photos: MS Dockville Festival in Hamburg
"Festivals promote diversity, they bring neighbors into dialogue, they increase creativity, they offer opportunities for civic pride, they improve our general psychological well-being. In short, they make cities better places to live."
David Binder
MS Dockville is one of those festivals that makes a city a better place to live as profits from the festival go to running art camps for children in the Wilhelmsburg area of Hamburg where the festival is held. If you're interested in which bands were playing, here's a playlist featuring the best of MS Dockville 2014. I've been writing with this playlist on repeat since last week; it's a good 'un!
Now here are my photos from what was an uplifting, laid-back and lazy weekend of good music and festival fun.
I was a guest of MS Dockville thanks to Must Love Festivals and Meininger Hotels, where I stayed in Hamburg. You can read my review of the hotel and reasoning why Meininger Hotels are worth knowing about if you love your European city breaks.
P.S. I took these photos on my new(ish) Nexus 5 phone, a worthy upgrade after two years on a secondhand Samsung SII (a brilliant phone, FYI). I edited all of them with VSCO cam and used the app Camera MX to take them.
