MusicMonday: Dance Me To The End of Love by The Civil Wars

Good morning Cowboys and Indians!

The lucky UK are waking up to not one but two bank holidays thanks to Queen Betty sticking around on the throne for the last 60 years. No such holiday luck over here in Holland, but there are no complaints from me as I have two special visitors arriving today; my brother and his wife. Directly related to this is my choice for today's #MusicMonday as my sister-in-law has been recommending The Civil Wars to me for a while and I finally got around to listening to them recently.

Now, I'll be honest. I don't normally like male-female duos, particularly ones that are so heavily influenced by folk and country (I'm more of an Elton & Kiki kinda girl), but what I like about this band and this particular song are the words. A song needs music perhaps first and foremost, but cleverly crafted words often create a short cut for a song to go straight to my heart.

So enjoy this beautifully crafted if a little cutesy song, Dance Me to the End of Love...Today's Instagram mash-up collates some fairly "boring" Instagrams from the last week; a week where we've experienced a constant flow of visitors and (subsequently) beer, a week when our bikes cuddled and a week when a pigeon landed on my head. Remind me to tell you about that one day soon...

Find me on Instagram as asthebirdfliesblog and if you like what you see I'd love it if you could  gimme a little like on Facebook. And P.S. I'm going to be starting up my new monthly newsletter next week sign up here for more photos, words, travel and life inspiration from around the internet. P.S. I know it still says "weekly" on the subscription form... my website manager  slave (NewMan) hasn't updated it yet but I promise it will only be one a month.
