MusicMonday: I Love You Porgy BY Nina Simone

Hello and Happy Easter Bank Holiday if you're in the UK today.

Yesterday I sat down to tackle an ongoing copywriting project and put Nina Simone on for company. This was strange for two reasons. 1. I actually put a CD on, which I don't think I've done in over two years. There was something so relaxing about just letting a full album play. And 2. I used to listen to Nina Simone at least once every week for nearly ten years of my life but for some reason she hasn't featured as much on my default travel playlist. I hope choosing this song makes up for that, Nina.

If you ever get a chance to see the musical Porgy & Bess I urge to to do so. I have a lovely fond memory of seeing it with my Mum in the West End of London, maybe ten or so years ago. The music is... well, like this; it sways your soul and speaks to you. This week's Instagrams are from Edinburgh. I love the pops of blue, the greys of the building and the many things I enjoyed seeing and doing including walking up to Arthur's Seat, vintage and charity shopping and spotting some of the best doorporn.Enjoy your week and if you're looking for something to read to kill some time on a daily commute or soothe to sleep one night, then please download my first short story See the Amalfi Coast, which is completely free and aims to make you laugh, think and dream of a summer holiday in Italy. You can read it on your smartphone, desktop or eReader. Download as a pdf, mobi (for Kindle) or epub (for Nook, Apple iBooks etc). Or you can pay a small amount to get it direct to your Kindle - I'll be donating all the royalties to charity.
