In photos: The North Sea Jazz Festival
I loved the three days I spent at North Sea Jazz Festival for many reasons. It confirmed that the music I love has its roots in jazz. Now this doesn't mean I only like jazz. Quite the opposite. This festival opened up my eyes and ears to the many, many different sounds that jazz has influenced. But jazz is also a music style I love and stays close to my heart; my grandfather was a life-long jazz fan and amateur jazz pianist. I feel very lucky to feel hopefully, maybe, possibly the same things he felt when I listen to jazz.
If you love soulful music that has a bit of swing and sass, a lot of bass and class, if you feel the blues and dance to disco, if you let music move you and if you ever get the chance to go, just go. This is a music festival for music lovers. I will go again before my time on this planet is through, of this I'm sure.
That's all I have to say about that here.
JUST GO.
You can read more about it in my piece for Travelettes.
And here are some photos... Disclosure: I attended the North Sea Jazz Festival as Press thanks to Rotterdam Marketing. But I would gladly return as a paying jazz lover. I hope that proves that my good opinion of this festival is my own.
