In photos: A whirlwind weekend in the UK
A few weekends ago, we went back to the UK for a friend's wedding, to empty our storage unit in London and to squeeze in quality time with friends and family. I also just wanted to see the green, green grass of home. And I did.
We did all this in a rental van which had "Diks" written on the side. Yes, we got the looks we thought we'd get and yes, we were very tired by the end of the weekend.
In fact, that Sunday night, when I placed my head on the pillow of a bed in our cabin on the Stena Hollandica, which took us back to the Hook of Holland, I fell asleep instantly and slept a full eight hours. On a moving ship. This is unheard of for me. Thank you Stenaline for such a smooth crossing, I needed that sleep desperately. Thanks for letting me share this slightly personal post. I often forget to document the speed and haste at which NewMan and I travel or do things. This weekend was fantastic but it was hectic too and I think I forget about that too quickly.
And thanks to Stenaline UK for the complimentary crossings in one of their very, very, very comfortable Comfort Class Cabins. I wrote about how relaxing travelling to continental Europe by boat is for Travelettes here and it includes references to Sex and the City, obviously.
