In photos: A Walk Along Reguliersgracht
Also known as the "Seven Bridges", I've only really seen Reguliersgracht from the water while on a boat, but I knew enough about it to recognise it as one of Amsterdam's prettiest canals. It's also much closer to my house than I realised. So last Friday morning after a week of rainy days I took full advantage of the sunshine and blue skies and took my camera (and Baby Bird, of course) out for a photo walk.
These are some of the things I saw.
I had to take full advantage of the kind invitation to sit on this bench as Baby Bird decided it was time to eat, a full two hours before I thought he'd be hungry again (see my Motherhood Diary entry from last week for more on this).
There are lots of benches outside houses in Amsterdam, along the canals and on all other kinds of streets in the centre and outskirts of the city. I've often been a bit unsure about whether just anybody could sit on them so I thank the owners of this particular bench for making it clear they were happy for passers-by to take a load off on their bench. I'm a bit tempted to get a bench myself and offer others the same kindness...
