In photos: Humans of Amsterdam
I wasn't going to share these photos of photos on my blog, because, you know, photos of photos aren't always that interesting. Besides, they've already been published on the brilliant Humans of Amsterdam blog, Facebook and other channels, so why re-share on my little blog?
Well, I went to see the Humans of Amsterdam exhibition at the main public library in the city, which is close to Centraal Station on Friday. And after Friday night happened in Paris, and seemingly endless atrocities around the world came to light (too late and too disproportionately lacking in weight or detail, in my opinion - one of the reasons I no longer reading or watch the news regularly) I thought why not share these few photos and stories which so uplifted me when I saw them.
We all need good stories and I believe sites like Humans of Amsterdam and Humans of New York, on which it is of course based on, are some of the best sources for honest, thought-provoking, happy and yes, also sad stories.
If you're in town before the end of this month, then please go down to the OBA near Centraal Station and see Debra's wonderful photos and hear more about how the project got started. It's an inspiring little story.
