NaNoWriMo Inspiration (Day 13): The Ten Minute Rule, (or Write Like a Baboon).
“If you can write each day, do it, and meet a quota. Minimum 350 words a day. A baboon can do 350 words a day. Don’t be shown up by a baboon” - James Scott Bell

I live by the ten minute rule.
This is a rule that applies whenever you have to do something you don't want to - for me it's running or doing my accounts - and the rule states that you only have to do this unpleasant activity for ten minutes.
After that ten minutes you have complete permission to stop. Of course, the trick is that 90% of the time, when those ten minutes are up, you don't want to stop, and so you continue.
If you're struggling to get your words out today, why not aim for ten minutes today rather than 1667 words? I'll help you out; here's timer you can use.
Or chop your wordcount in half... just aim for 834 words.
Or go for a baboon-friendly 350 words.
That is better than nothing. One word is better than no words...
