MusicMonday: Norway by Beach House
Hello new week. Hello friends.
We're preparing to be on the move again, crossing into Swedish Lapland for a mini adventure before we depart for Norway on Thursday, hence today's song. I've never been to Norway before and it's always exciting to arrive in a new country. However, the best part is I have a blogging friend meeting me at the other end that I get to spend time with.
I love Beach House. Every now and again a band comes along and each song and each album they've ever been responsible for instantly becomes part of my musical furniture; at home, comfortable, to be picked up and loved enthusiastically if only to be forgotten again periodically. Beach House is one of these bands.
I hope you like this song. Funnily enough it looks like they're singing it in the snow I'm so completely used to now. Oh and can I let you in a little embarrassing secret. For the first few months I was loving their music, I thought the lead singer was a man. Make of that what you will. This week's Instagrams feature the worthy Ylläs. Finland's largest ski resort and home to a huge and beautiful national park. We have loved snowboarding here, enjoying long red and neatly groomed red runs and we found some brilliant off piste areas full of untouched powder thanks to a snowfall on Saturday. I feel lucky to have spent a week there.
