In Photos: A Foggy Morning in Amsterdam

One morning in the middle of August, I woke to find a cloud outside my window. That cloud stuck around all morning until long after my second cup of cofffee... For some reason the unusualnes of the mist stopping me from seeing the house opposite ours prompted me to grab my camera as well as my work bag and my son and my keys as I left the house. After taking my son to his daycare, I made a couple of stops on my way to work and I took some photos. 

In taking the photos and in seeing the photos now I realise how much about my Amsterdam commute I take for granted; the houseboats, the cyclists (everywhere!), the parked bikes (EVERYWHERE!), the coots and ducks and swans swimming along the River Amstel...

I need to take more photos of the things I take for granted about this city, because these are the things that others will find interesting and actually, when I take a step back, I find them fascinating too.
