Evening Sun in Koh Lanta, Thailand
More photos from that sunset. I didn't think I'd got any decent ones because I had to grab the camera so quickly (it was so cleverly packed in my suitcase surrounded by rolls of clothing I couldn't find it at first) and then didn't even check what the settings were; as part of my desire to learn more about photography I have been on an Auto-ban for the last few days now and I have to say it's been the most liberating experience, photographically speaking. Anyway, all I did to achieve these photos was release the lens cap, point and snap whilst still continuing a conversation with NewMan and the owners of our accommodation here in Thailand who were giving us a tour. I then cropped the photos a little so the sun is central(ish) to each one. I seriously had no idea how much I swayed whilst taking photos. As the sun sank under the sea, the English guy, who owns our apartment with his lovely Thai wife, told us that sometimes when you see a full sun set, i.e. the sun looks big and round juicy like in this photo, you can see a flash of green light just as it disappears from view. We all waited and watched in some anticipation but there was no green to be seen.
It was, however, impossible to be disappointed.
