Introducing "Twelve"... A Short Story Collection Published Month by Month

A new short story every month in 2015

In 2015 I will publish a new short story every single month, and I will send it to you for free.

Each story will be released in ebook format (as a pdf, a mobi and an epub) and will be sent directly in a newsletter to all my subscribers, for free. If you sign up to be a newsletter reader, by the end of the year, you will have twelve short stories, which I will publish (hopefully!) in December as a full collection in both ebook and paperback format. At the end of the year, newsletter readers will also be sent the full collection as a single ebook.

While some of the single stories may also appear on Amazon, I have already decided to not aim to publish each one publicly for Kindle every single month.

My reasoning behind this is both very selfish and a little bit selfless:

  1. Formatting an ebook for Amazon, hiring a cover designer and getting it 100% ready and approved by Kindle Direct Publishing can take a minimum of 48 hours, more likely much longer, not too mention an additional outgoing cost. I don't really sell enough single short stories to justify that kind of time each month.
  2. Furthermore, this project is more about increasing my output of words and stories than it is published books, though I think it will help with that too. It will hopefully mean two books published this year, rather than the one I've managed in 2013 and 2014.
  3. And now for the slightly less selfish reason. I want to show my most loyal readers how much I value their time and engagement reading and commenting on this blog. Many of my newsletter readers are also those who read my stories first, share them with their friends and indeed buy the books themselves. I want to give back to you and ONLY you this year.

Sign up to read the stories first

Interested? Intrigued? Don't think I can do it? (I don't blame you!!) Then sign up to my newsletter to find out first, and to receive an original short story every month in 2015.

The first story, to be published at the end of this month is going to be called The Pink Flowers and it's the sequel to See the Amalfi Coast. If you haven't yet read See the Amalfi Coast, you can download it for free here or on Amazon. (You'll also get the option to download it when you sign up to the newsletter too!) Enjoy!

P.S. London Eyes and Shy Feet are still reduced until the end of the month. Be quick to get your hands on a copy!

Photo, which has nothing to do with this project, is of the beautiful swimming beach nextdoor to the African Penguins private sands at Boulders Beach in Simon's Town, Cape Town.
