In photos: A January Weekend in Amsterdam

We ended a busy week of work by playing with the neighbourhood cat and buying tulips to brighten up the house. I then spent all of Friday evening cooking a vegetable lasagne. (We've given up meat in January - it's been a fun challenge!)

My friend and I walked eight miles across the city stopping at the Bloemenmarkt some vintage clothes shops in 9 Stratjes and then learning a thing or two about Erasmus at the Bijbels Museum. In the evening we went to a vegetarian restaurant called Golden Temple (which was nice but not as amazing as we'd hoped...).

On Sunday I woke feeling unwell (a head cold that's going to kick in any minute now) so we spent the morning on the sofa. In the afternoon we celebrated Australia Day with our neighbours by eating TimTams and drinking tea (Oh yes, we also gave up alcohol in January - that's been a more interesting challenge!). I made lamingtons, which went a bit wrong but my friends were polite enough to eat them anyway.

I hope you had a lovely weekend too.
