Two Campervans in British Suburbia

I saw these two VW campervans brightening up a sloping suburban road in South London recently.

Their vintage tones, proud polished finish and blatant potential for freedom caught my eye and my imagination. I'm not a natural camper, but the twelve days I spent exploring New Zealand by campervan last year was one of my most favourite journeys. Although our van had a fraction of the charm and elegance of these beauties, I will always love seeing treasured campervans sitting patiently on the roadside, waiting for their next chance to bring a little freedom to somebody.

Next month one of my bestest friends is getting married and their beloved baby blue VW combi (that they shipped all the way home from Australia!) is going to have a staring role. I suppose this means I'll always be romantic about campervans, but you know what? I'm absolutely fine with that.
