MusicMonday: Nothing Compares 2 U by Prince

Did you know that Prince wrote this song? Well, I think it's only right that you do now. I never really liked the Sinead O'Connor version - too haunting, too dramatic, too sad - but I always admired the song. I was very happy when I found out a few years ago that Prince was the man behind it.

We've been listening to a lot of Prince recently as we crack on with work and settle into our new place. NewMan always sings a little bit louder than I do when we put Prince on and that's fine by me. Though the song made it on to one of the albums by The Family (Prince's funk and soul side project) it's hard to think that this song wasn't a single for him, nor was it even an album track until a live version made it on to the a B-Sides album... And thus concludes your education about Prince today. This week's Instagrams show that it's been a week of simple fun, simple things and simple pleasures. This is precisely how I like life to be sometimes...

Oh and a little note to say congratulations to my #MusicMonday buddy who completed the Amsterdam Half Marathon yesterday. Well done Suma! You reminded me how much I miss Amsterdam.
