Fifteen Little Photos from Tuscany

Isn't hype a funny thing?

One person's enthusiasm for a place makes me intrigued.

A few shared opinions of a place lead me to make further inquiries. I'm interested. Talk to me.

When more than a few people go there, I'm happy to follow. What's all the fuss about?

When everyone heads there, I turn in  the opposite direction.

When a place is hyped and hyped and hyped about, and becomes the setting for countless books and films, this hype puts me off completely. I switch off and actively seek out the alternatives.

Hype had put me off going back to Tuscany for a long time.

Hype is silly thing, but not as silly as Frankie who found out what she was missing a few weekends ago. Turns out there's room in Tuscany for both hype and me.

These are the little square photos I took for my Instagram account, and the Travelettes account too. "Big camera" photos of our villa and adventures in Lucca to follow...
