Dreaming in Black and White - Milford Sound

As I sifted through photos for this blog post about visiting Milford Sound, I wondered why I'd taken so many in black and white. In fact, I hadn't. It was just that the light, the dark greens and greys and the swirls of white mist and cloud all looked very monochrome. At closer look I realised that a lack of colour captured something special about the photos; that "other worldly" experienced I felt. I then played around with some edits to actually make some of my photos black and white to see if they keep this sense of mystery and magic. I'm very glad that they do... I take an unexpected courage in these photographs that maybe I can and should shoot in black and white more often. Watch this space...
